If you are passionate about local food and have a talent for creative writing and visual storytelling through photography or videography, this is the perfect opportunity for you! As a Content Marketing Specialist, you will focus on promoting New Brunswick's local food and beverage sector. Working closely with the local team, you will play a key role in capturing engaging content, crafting compelling messages, and ensuring our brand's voice is consistently represented across our NB Food and Beverages marketing channels. Your work will directly support initiatives under the Local Food and Beverages Strategy.
Who we are
The Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries (DAAF), Marketing and Trade - Food Branch, is responsible for facilitating increased business opportunities and market diversification of New Brunswick¿s seafood, agri-food, beverages and value-added products through market development, market research, promotional activities, trade missions, tradeshows and other actions that provide support for both local and export initiatives.
As a Content Marketing Specialist, you will:
- Create engaging digital assets (photos, videos, graphics, etc.) to promote New Brunswick food and beverage products.
- Manage logistics for photo and video shoots across New Brunswick, ensuring smooth execution.
- Plan, write, and edit marketing content and collateral to support campaigns.
- Maintain an organized calendar for upcoming social media content and ensure timely approval through GNB systems.
- Drive the growth of NB Food & Beverages' presence on DAAF-owned social media channels and EatLocalNB.ca.
- Actively monitor and engage with audiences by responding to comments and direct messages in a timely manner.
- Uphold brand standards across all content and marketing materials.
- Collaborate with industry partners, contractors, and agencies to support local digital marketing initiatives.
- Track and maintain a calendar of food and beverage events in New Brunswick.
- Organize and manage a digital asset library, ensuring proper rights usage and distribution within GNB and with approved partners.
- Stay informed on the latest digital marketing trends and best practices to continuously enhance expertise.
- Prepare detailed briefings and analytical reports on digital channel performance and campaign outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with a dynamic team of marketing and market development professionals in the branch.
Who you are
- You have a post-secondary degree or diploma related to Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Journalism, Visual Arts, Media Arts, or a related degree.
- You have at least four years of recent work experience in marketing and/or working for a marketing agency, with experience in digital marketing.
- You excel at creating engaging visual content for digital marketing channels and events.
- You have a strong understanding of social media for business and stay up to date on trends, best practices, and algorithm changes.
- You are a creative writer who can adapt to and maintain a consistent brand voice and tone.
- You communicate complex ideas in a way that's clear and accessible to the general public.
- You are passionate about New Brunswick's food and beverage sector.
- You are a lifelong learner who thrives on staying informedand improving your skills.
- You have exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple deliverables.
- You are a self-starter and a team player who can work independently and collaboratively.
- You have a valid driver licence and enjoy exploring New Brunswick.
Essential Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Journalism, Visual Arts, Media Arts, or a related degree, and a minimum of four (4) years of related experience in marketing and/or working within a marketing agency, with experience in digital marketing.
OR
- A two-year post-secondary diploma in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Journalism, Visual Arts, Media Arts, or a related diploma, and a minimum of six (6) years of related experience in marketing and/or working within a marketing agency, with experience in digital marketing.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability on your application.

Asset Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate one or more of the following:
- Experience in the food and beverages industry or agriculture, aquaculture, or fisheries sectors.
- Experience collaborating on the creative direction with team members and/or providing direction to agency partners.
- Experience developing and/or launching social media campaigns for business marketing purposes.
Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

Operational Requirements
- Travel within and outside of the province, on occasion.
- Work outside of the usual work hours to monitor social media, as required.
- Possession of a valid class 5 driver licence, as issued by the Province of New Brunswick, or equivalent.
Work location and hours
- Office Location: 1350 Regent Street, Fredericton (an alternate DAAF office location may be considered).
- Work hours: Monday to Friday / 8:15 to 4:30; occasional travel and extended work hours may be required.
- An optional work plan of time spent in the office and remote work may be considered.

Salary: $57,616 to $80,574 per annum
