What you will do
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Financial Services, this position provides financial and policy-related advice and accounting services, including forecasting, budgeting, expenditure monitoring and financial reporting. They are the primary financial support for Justice Services and the Office of the Attorney General. They provide direction and guidance in completing quarterly reports and expert advice to resolve budget issues. They are responsible for analyzing each Branch's quarterly submissions to identify pressure points, budget issues, and potential savings; and for investigating, analyzing and documenting variances.

The Senior Financial Analyst will use various financial applications throughout the department, review work processes to continually look for innovations and process improvements, propose solutions and implement change.

Need to have:

  • Candidates should possess a university degree; and
  • Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, with a minimum of five (5) years of related financial experience
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo a criminal history clearance

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Wage
Pay Band 5: $2,536-$3,542 bi-weekly ($65,936 to $92,092 annually) depending on education and experience.

Work environment

  • 20 McGloin Street, Fredericton, NB
  • Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:30
