The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst, Category Procurement to join our Procurement team in Toronto.

This is a permanent position.

As the Senior Analyst, Category Procurement, you will execute the procurement of materials, equipment and services at the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) possible while incorporating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices and Ensure that all procurement activities are carried out in a timely and financially responsible manner, to best meet organizational objectives in compliance with corporate policies.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Lead RFP processes to meet internal customer requirements, ensuring satisfactory evaluations.
  • Conduct thorough cost analysis to support optimal procurement decision-making.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct complex negotiations to secure favorable terms, minimize risks, and generate value.
  • Analyze data, market trends, and supplier capabilities to provide actionable procurement insights.
  • Apply analytical thinking to run commercial analysis and support procurement recommendations.
  • Lead strategic and contract management activities, including change orders, claims, and dispute resolution.
  • Establish contracting strategies and draft contracts to mitigate risks.

About You

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree

Experience:

  • 6-8 years' of work experience

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills (verbal and written) with a customer service-driven mindset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards).
  • Experience in leading RFP processes and conducting thorough cost analysis for procurement decision-making.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Expertise in conducting complex negotiations to secure favorable terms and minimize risks.
  • Analytical thinking to evaluate data, market trends, and supplier capabilities for actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of contractual law principles and various contracting types (Unit Price, Lump Sum, Cost Reimbursable, Time & Material).
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage time efficiently to meet deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Capability to lead strategic and contract management activities, including change orders, claims, and dispute resolution.
  • Commitment to safety culture and awareness, with experience in Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) practices.
