Position: Full -Time Security Guard

Hours: Monday to Friday (1430-2230 hrs)
Payrate: $21.21/hr.
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is ESA

Job Description:

• Working on assigned shifts, you will provide proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents.
• Display excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistance.
• In this role, it is essential that you are physically fit and able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Perform a variety of preventative and reactive duties to include, but not limited to interior and exterior patrols within the hospital as well as exterior of all buildings and areas of the organization.
• Provide Use of Force/Restraint as required and directed under the Mental Health Act
• Provide security escort service to staff and visitors as requested.
• Accountable for keeping accurate logs and notebook entries of all shift activity and calls for service.
• Accountable to write accurate reports upon investigations or reportable occurrences in timely manner upon completion of occurrence.
• Investigate and follow-up of incidents, report writing, door opening requests, CCTV camera reviews.
• Security Guards shall warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary.
• Implement security measures to protect property, control access to sites, patrol assigned areas to monitor activities and ensure client rules and regulations are followed.

Job Requirements:

• Valid Security Guard license & First AID CPR - Level C certificate
• Immunization Record - (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, covid-19, & TB Skin Test)
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service along with good computer abilities
• Degree in Police Foundations, Protection Security and Investigations, Criminology, or Border Services will be an asset
• Minimum 1 year experience of Security Experience in Healthcare Security
• Able to provide a clean shaven face in order to pass a N95 mask fit test
• Knowledge of relevant Federal, Provincial, Municipal laws and By-laws
• Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact and diplomacy.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
• • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB pre-employment certification training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB pre-employment certification training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
