WHO WE ARE:
The Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour wishes to establish an inventory of qualified candidates to fill permanent and temporary positions, depending on the need per region, for current and future vacancies of Training and Certification Coordinator positions throughout the Province of New Brunswick. Applicants must note on their applications the location(s) for which they wish to be considered (Fredericton, Woodstock, Moncton, Saint John, Edmundston, Bathurst, Miramichi, Acadian Peninsula).

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The successful candidate will be responsible for apprenticeship and occupational certification in a series of trades. The work involves planning, organizing, implementing and monitoring of all components of the apprenticeship training and certification program such as: counselling and monitoring of apprentices; evaluating on-the-job-training and invigilating exams; coordinating technical training and collecting fees. The successful candidate will be required to participate and assist in activities related to the promotion and enhancement of apprenticeship and occupational certification in New Brunswick. Duties are performed within a framework of established regulations, policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma supplemented by post-secondary education with a Diploma of Apprenticeship or a Trade Qualification Certificate (CQ) and a minimum of three (3) years related work experience, OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Some positions require written and spoken competence in French and English. Others will require written and spoken competence in English or in French only. Please state your language capability.

Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration. Please ensure that preferred language for assessment is identified on your resume.

The following operational requirements are also required:

A valid driver's license as this position requires considerable travel within the province.

Prior to appointment, the successful candidate will be required to successfully complete a Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) reference check.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: The successful candidate will possess the following technical competencies:

  • Ability to use Office Technology, Software and Applications;
  • Knowledge of Applicable Legislation and the Department's Policies and Procedures;
  • Knowledge of Training/Instructional Techniques;
  • Counselling Skills.

SALARY: $2,664 to $3,220 bi-weekly.
