Working under the guidance of the Casino Manager, the Assistant Manager - Slot Operations - is accountable for the efficient and effective operation of all electronic gaming devices in compliance with all regulations and internal policies and procedures. The Assistant Manager - Slot Operations will work in conjunction with and act as a key support for the Assistant Manager - Table Games and they must remain a subject matter expert in all casino operations.

They will stay abreast of industry trends, make recommendations for new games and technology, lead the launch of new games and technology and update all internal policies to support casino electronic gaming operations.

The Assistant Manager - Slot Operations is responsible for overall administrative duties of the team, and provides guidance, support, coaching and development opportunities to his/her team of Supervisors, Leads, Slot Attendants, and Slot Technicians. This position is a Healthy Play champion ensuring a safe and engaging experience for all Red Shores guests and employees.

In conjunction with the Slot Operations leadership team, they will manage schedules and labour cost within approved budgets.

Responsibilities
  • Supervisory role includes monitoring of employees and operations to ensure compliance with PEI Gaming Regulations, the Red Shores Internal Control Manual and Red Shores Human Resources Policies
  • An advocate for Healthy Play. Supports PlayWise initiatives and incorporates best practices into daily operations.
  • Supervise, mentor, coach and contribute to the development of staff based on performance management practices. Provide coaching and counseling of employees with support from department's Supervisors
  • Responsibility for the performance management of their direct reports - Supervisors and Leads. This includes ensuring the Supervisors are meeting with their staff and accountable for their team's performance management
  • Working closely with the Casino Manager, provides input and operational guidance for the development of financial projections and budgets
  • Lead the implementation of all new slots, electronic games, and supporting technology.
  • In cooperation and assistance of all Supervisors and Leads, control departmental budgets by monitoring use of overtime, tracking scheduled hours and oversee hiring new team members.
  • Monitor, develop and review all policies and procedures ensuring that operational requirements are met and enhanced where possible.
  • Actively look for and suggest opportunities to improve processes, procedures, promotions, that will help improve staff engagement, guest experience, operational efficiencies and increase revenues
  • Work closely with the Casino Manager & Marketing team to help develop and execute various promotions
  • Will be responsible for the development, documentation, and execution of a consistent training program for all applicable employees (Supervisors, Leads, Slot Attendants and Slot Technicians)
Qualifications
  • Requires supervisory experience in a related field of five (5) or more years or a combination of equivalent working experience and education
  • Technical knowledge and experience of casino operations (Table Games and Slot Machines), Gaming Equipment & Casino Management System is an asset.
  • Responsible Beverage Certification (responsible to have and maintain active certification on own for duration of employment in Casino Department)
