As part of the IT Services System Operator team, this role is responsible for the system administration, maintenance, and support of computing systems while maintaining compliance with security policies, procedures and standards.

Key functions include:
• Security patch management, including evaluating, scheduling, and applying patches to critical SCADA systems to mitigate vulnerabilities and maintain compliance. Monitor and assess security logs to take corrective action for identified risks.
• System security management including malicious code prevention, network and host intrusion detection, and system access control.
• Update and maintain operational procedures, test recovery and maintenance plans and participate in annual documentation reviews of procedures and processes related to cyber security.
• Maintenance functions related to managing the cyber assets within the NB Power protected Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) network.

Our ideal teammate will have:
• Bachelor of Computer Science, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Bachelor of Science in Engineering
• One year of experience in a combination of two or more of the following:
• MS Server 2016+ and Desktop Support
• Active Directory, GPMC and WSUS
• TCP/IP Networking
• Cyber Security
• Juniper Networks Security Products and Switching, Routing, VPN

An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.

An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
