About the Role
As our Physiotherapist, you will assess residents' mobility and rehabilitation needs, develop individualized treatment plans, and oversee their implementation in collaboration with our Therapeutic Mobility Assistant. You'll also work closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care.
What You'll Do
- Assess residents for mobility concerns, pain, strength, balance, and range of motion
- Develop and monitor personalized physiotherapy treatment plans
- Supervise implementation of treatment by the Therapeutic Mobility Assistant
- Provide direct physiotherapy treatment using approved techniques and modalities
- Collaborate with nursing, medical, and allied health professionals to ensure comprehensive care
- Recommend and evaluate assistive devices and mobility aids
- Communicate with families as needed to support resident care
- Educate staff on safe body mechanics, transfers, and the use of assistive devices
What You Bring
- Master of Science in Physiotherapy (or equivalent)
- Registration in good standing with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience (rehabilitation or geriatrics preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- A collaborative and self-directed approach to care
