We're seeking a motivated Network Support Specialist to join our team. This role is primarily remote (work from home) with travel to client sites for installations and support. You'll focus on client-site installations, day-of deployment coordination, and managing our support ticket queue. You'll work with VoIP systems, network equipment, and client-facing hardware while developing your technical skills in a growing telecommunications company.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain client-site equipment including routers, switches, WAPs, and VoIP phones
Coordinate and lead day-of-installation activities at client locations
Manage the support ticket queue and prioritize technical issues
Document hardware configurations and network topology
Work with senior team members on basic server and network infrastructure tasks
Perform basic preventative maintenance and hardware updates
Respond to client support requests in a timely manner
Responsibility for weekend/holiday emergency support coverage occasionally required
Required Qualifications
Diploma in Computer Systems and Networking, Information Technology, or equivalent
Knowledge of networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, and basic server concepts
Familiarity with network equipment including switches, routers, and wireless access points
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client sites throughout Atlantic Canada
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Suitable home office setup with dedicated workspace, reliable internet connection, and room for VoIP equipment and networking gear
Desired Skills and Attributes
Experience or coursework related to VoIP systems and telecommunications
Knowledge of Linux server environments
CompTIA Network+ or similar certifications
Experience with ticketing systems
Organized and detail-oriented approach to work
