The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Asset Integrity Engineer to join our Maintenance Engineering & Reliability Team in Long Harbour, NL. Relocation to the Province of Newfoundland & Labrador will be required for this role.

This is a permanent on-site position, working a 4x10s Monday to Thursday schedule at our Long Harbour Operations Site.

As a Senior Asset Integrity Engineer, you will be responsible for reliability engineering issues associated with the design, installation, or maintenance programs for Tanks, Vessels, Heat Exchangers and Piping. Your experience and skills will continuously improve equipment performance and reliability through the adoption of world class engineering principles, proven reliability tools such as RBI, and continual improvement of maintenance strategies on equipment.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Utilize reliability tools such as Risk Based Inspection (RBI), reliability centered maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA) to develop predictive maintenance (PdM) and preventative maintenance (PM) maintenance Strategies for fixed assets.
  • Manage a Risk based Inspection (RBI) program for fixed assets and be responsible for the program success by development of procedures, tools, and resources used.
  • Work within the guidelines of the Quality Control Program for Registered Pressure Piping, ensuring that all activities comply with Provincial Regulations.
  • Interface with Maintenance Planning personnel on a regular basis to ensure that equipment data, spares requirements, and procedures and documentation are modified as necessary as a result of additions, deletions or modifications to the plant processes or configuration.
  • Provide corrosion engineering technical support when failure symptoms have been detected, in order to develop the actions required to prevent a failure.
  • Provides maintainability and operability design input to engineering and project teams to ensure components, assets and systems can be maintained (repaired, replaced, etc.) as efficiently as possible.

About You

Education:

  • A Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Corrosion, Mechanical, or Metallurgy Engineering is required.
  • A Professional Engineering Designation (P. Eng) from PEGNL is required.
  • A NACE Certification would be considered an asset.
  • API 510, 570, 571, 653 and/or CWB Welding Inspector Certification would be considered an asset.
  • Maintenance Reliability Professional and/or Maintenance Management Professional designation would be considered an asset.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience (post P. Eng) as an Engineer.
  • Previous experience as Asset Integrity Engineer, Fixed Asset Reliability Engineer, Corrosion Engineer, and/or a Reliability Engineer would be an asset.
  • Previous experience in a complex industrial setting is required.
  • Knowledge and experience with specialized software packages for thickness monitoring, RBI, fit for service, etc.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Software skills in O365 and CMMS systems.
