We're seeking a values-driven Director of Human Resources to help lead our people strategy and support our expanding impact across the community.

Position Summary

As the Director of Human Resources, you will lead and mentor a small HR team to deliver effective, compassionate, and strategic HR support across RRSS. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, you will play a key leadership role in driving organizational culture, developing talent, and aligning HR practices with our mission and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to the Human Resources team.
  • Oversee and enhance all core HR functions, including:
    • Recruitment and Retention strategies to attract and retain top talent.
    • Performance Management programs that support staff development and accountability.
    • Labour and Employee Relations, including contract negotiations and employee engagement.
    • Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) program compliance and promotion of a safe work environment.
    • Training and Development initiatives to support continuous learning and career growth.
  • Lead HR policy development and implementation, ensuring compliance with legislation and alignment with organizational values.
  • Foster a positive organizational culture aligned with RRSS's values of respect, inclusion, and excellence.
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic HR planning and workforce development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology).
  • Diploma or Certificate in Human Resources Management.
  • Current CPHR designation or actively working toward certification.
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior HR generalist or management role.
  • Proven ability to lead a team, manage change, and develop strong working relationships at all levels.
  • Experience in the non-profit, healthcare, or social services sectors considered an asset.
