We are hiring an IT Audit Manager for a permanent role on our Audit Services team. Reporting to the Director, IT Audit, you will work with the audit team to deliver IT assurance and advisory services across all Emera affiliates in Canada, the Caribbean, and the U.S. The Manager is responsible for managing internal audit and advisory engagements of technology processes and topics, including leading audit team members in the research of those topics; development of scope, objectives, risk control matrices and audit programs; and communicating results. As needed, the role also includes responsibility for SOX IT general controls (ITGC) testing to ensure compliance for applicable affiliates.

Key elements of this role include:

  • Manage and execute affiliate IT assurance and advisory engagements and provide technical expertise. As needed, manage the annual SOX ITGC and NI 52-109 compliance programs, including walkthroughs, control testing, and coordination with external auditors.
  • Supervise and review the work of team members, ensuring quality, consistency, and adequacy of audit evidence and deliverables.
  • Maintain strong relationships with affiliate IT teams, staying informed on key risks and initiatives, and facilitating alignment on sensitive or complex issues.
  • Monitor and advise on remediation efforts related to prior audit and SOX findings.
  • Ensure audit deliverables meet budget, timeline, and quality expectations, and are reviewed with management prior to finalization.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with organizational strategy.
  • Stay current on regulatory and professional standards, including NI 52-109, SOx, PCAOB, and IIA, and integrate updates into audit practices.

You recognize yourself in most of the following competencies and possess many, if not all, of the skills and experience listed below:

  • Degree in Management Information Systems, Accounting, or a related business discipline.
  • Relevant IT audit certification (e.g., CISA, CISM, CRISC).
  • 6+ years of IT audit or ITGC-related experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in team leadership through direct supervision, informal coordination, or independent ownership of business or department function(s).
  • Proven experience conducting IT audits in complex, dynamic environments.
  • Strong understanding of audit methodologies, enterprise risk, governance, and control design.
  • Knowledge of core IT areas (infrastructure, operations, middleware) and emerging technologies (cloud, AI).
  • Experience with ERP systems, data management, or IT system development is an asset.
  • Ability to assess IT risks and controls and communicate business impacts.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and results-driven in fast-paced environments.
