The Canadian Red Cross (CRC), one of Canada's most respected humanitarian organizations, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director, Corporate Giving to lead and grow our corporate philanthropy program. This role is ideal for a seasoned fundraising leader with a strong background in relational sales or corporate fundraising, who thrives in a performance-driven culture and is passionate about building strategic partnerships that support humanitarian impact.

As a key member of the Philanthropy leadership team, the Director will be responsible for coaching and managing a high-performing team, cultivating a culture of excellence, and driving revenue growth through strategic corporate engagement. In addition to leading planning and budgeting functions, this role requires a proven track record in fundraising or sales, with the ability to inspire, influence, and deliver results.

In this role, you will:

Fundraising Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead the Corporate Giving team in developing and executing strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate donors, ensuring alignment with CRC's mission and revenue goals.
  • This role will focus on coaching and mentoring team members in fundraising best practices, relationship management, and performance accountability, and will not involve managing a significant portfolio of Corporate Partners. Instead, they will be focused on achieving results by equipping and empowering their team.
  • Champion a winning culture focused on donor-centricity, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Operational & Strategic Planning

  • A primary responsibility will be to develop and oversee the annual operating plan (AOP) and budget for Corporate Giving, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities. This also involves developing and implementing tactical strategies to grow the channel.
  • Monitor performance against revenue targets and KPIs, using data to inform decisions and drive results and implement mitigation plans and strategies as necessary to achieve results.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure integration of corporate giving strategies with broader fundraising and marketing initiatives.

People Leadership & Culture

  • Provide leadership and guidance to managers and staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
  • Support workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, and professional development.
  • Lead change initiatives and promote a culture of adaptability, resilience, and innovation.

Governance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with fundraising ethics, regulations, and employment legislation.
  • Monitor external trends and regulatory changes to inform strategy and mitigate risks.
  • Develop and implement governance practices and operational efficiencies using technology and data.

What we are looking for:

  • 8-12 years of experience in corporate fundraising, relational sales, or philanthropy, with a strong track record of revenue generation and team leadership.
  • A diploma or degree in business, marketing, nonprofit management, or a related field-or equivalent experience.
  • Proven ability to coach and lead fundraising professionals, drive performance, and foster a culture of accountability.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience managing complex projects and navigating high-pressure environments.
  • CFRE designation is an asset.
  • Proficiency in donor management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Occasional domestic or international travel.
  • Fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
