Halifax Water is currently seeking one (1) Term (3-6 months) Full-time Collection Systems Operator Apprentice.

Interested, qualified candidates are asked to submit a cover letter and up-to-date resume, quoting Competition #HW25-86ER confirming their interest by 4:30pm on July 18th, 2025.

Responsibilities

The position is responsible for:

  • Performing scheduled and emergency cleaning, repair and maintenance of sanitary and stormwater related infrastructure.
  • Operation of vehicles, equipment, and tools in a safe manner to perform such functions in all weather conditions and in confined spaces, etc.
  • Contribution in meeting the operational objectives of Halifax Water.
Qualifications

This position requires:

  • Grade 12
  • Two (2) years of experience operating and maintaining sanitary and stormwater related infrastructure,
  • Class 5 with a willingess to obtain a Class 3 - with a clean driving record
  • Commitment to safe work practices.

This is a unionized position.
