We are currently hiring for the below position for our client in Offshore Newfoundland:

1. Able Bodied Seaman

2. Motorman

Full Time/Short-Term Contract position - 28/28 rotation - Paid Trainings - Competitive Wage

ABLE BODIED SEAMAN (DECK CREW)

JOB SUMMARY: The role of the Able Bodied Seaman is to carry out all tasks and duties as directed by the Chief Officer or their nominee thereby enabling the Deck Department to operate safely and efficiently.

PRE-REQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Canadian Bridgewatch Rating or STCW II/4 Equivalent
  • Previous Offshore Experience
  • Previous vessel or comparable rig experience required
  • Previous Experience as Coxswain
  • Semi-Sub Experience considered an asset
  • Experience as HDA (Helideck Assistant) Preferred
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening Checks

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Able Bodied Seaman is to ensure that all their tasks and duties are carried out safely and efficiently using relevant safety equipment.
  • They are to ensure that a valid Work Permit is in the force for work requiring such a Permit
  • The Able Bodied Seaman reports to the supervisor
  • They are responsible for assisting in and reporting any malfunction of any equipment they are using or having knowledge of being in use, to the Bosun or the Deck Officer on watch.
  • The responsibilities also include reporting as required by FIMS
  • To be a part of the category management program if required
  • They are to follow the ISPS tasks given by the SSO
  • They must be able to function as a Banksman/Slinger.
  • The Able Bodied Seaman II's special duties include, but are not limited to, coordinate the correct and safe operation of the anchor and retrieving winches and the proper handling of the towing bridle and the anchor handling equipment.
  • They may also perform duties of a Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) or Helicopter Deck Assistant (HDA) and/or a Helicopter Fireguard, providing they have the qualifications and experience.
  • Specific duties may be stated on the X000-307-01F1 Muster List or set out in the X000-307-00 Emergency Response Manual
  • They are to carry out any lawful command as requested by Shipboard Management
  • Other Duties as Assigned

MOTORMAN (ENGINE ROOM CREW)

JOB SUMMARY: The role of the Motorman is to carry out all tasks and duties as directed by the First Engineer or their nominee, thereby enabling the Engine Department to operate in a safe and efficient manner.

PRE-REQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Canadian Engine Room Rating or STCW III/4 Equivalent
  • 2 Years Experience as a Motorman
  • Previous Offshore Experience
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening Checks

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Motorman duties include, but are not limited to, watch keeping, repair and maintenance of domestic and accommodation facilities.

  • The Motorman are to ensure that all their tasks and duties are carried out safely and efficiently using relevant safety equipment
  • Assist with the cleanliness of machinery spaces
  • They are responsible for fabric maintenance
  • They are to ensure that a valid Work Permit is in force for work requiring such a Permit
  • The Motorman reports to the Engineer on duty
  • Assist with reporting of any malfunction of any equipment to the Engineer on duty. Duties in the accommodation could be carried out if required.
  • The responsibilities also include reporting as required by the FIMS.
  • To be a part of the category management program if required
  • They are to follow the ISPS tasks given by the SSO
  • Emergency duties may be stated on the Muster List or in the Emergency Response Manual.
  • They are to carry out any lawful command as requested by Shipboard Management.
  • Other Duties as Assigned
