What you will do
Reporting to the Land Survey Supervisor of the Right-of-Way Management Unit, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- researching property boundaries and ownership ;
- preparing survey plans;
- surveying legal boundaries with various surveying equipment, ascertaining legal access to properties, drafting and preforming survey calculations in various CAD programs, writing and checking legal survey descriptions;
- producing accurate field notes and organizing project files;
- providing legal survey technical assistance;
- coordinating legal and topographic surveys, field inspection of properties for building condition and/or encroachments.
Work environment:
- Office location: Work Location in Fredericton (440 King Street).
- Open office layout.
- Standard hours of work: Monday – Friday

- Extensive Travel within the province will be required.
- Working in various weather conditions.

Essential Qualifications:
Engineering and Field Level VI:
- Diploma from a two (2) year Civil Engineering or Surveying Technology program.
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible related work experience.
- Must be a member, or be eligible for membership, in the New Brunswick Society of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.
If there are no applicants with the above essential qualifications, we may consider applicants with the following qualifications and appoint at a lower classification.
Engineering and Field Level V:
- Diploma from a two (2) year Civil Engineering or Surveying Technology program.
- A minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible related work experience.
- Must be a member, or be eligible for membership, in the New Brunswick Society of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.
Engineering and Field Level IV:
- Diploma from a two (2) year Civil Engineering or Surveying Technology program.
- A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible related work experience.
- Must be a member, or be eligible for membership, in the New Brunswick Society of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate the following assets:
- skills/experience in Leica Survey Equipment, Carlson CAD Software & ESRI ArcPro.
Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

SALARY:
Engineering and Field Level VI: $2,126.00 to $2,671.00 bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week.
Engineering and Field Level V: $1,935.00 to $2,434.00 bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week.
Engineering and Field Level IV: $1,763.00 to $2,211.00 bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week.
