Placement Duration: September – December 2025

Department: Department of Health (DH)

Placement Description: The Department of Health is seeking a Policy Advisor to support the Policy and Legislative Affairs Branch. This role provides valuable hands-on experience in government policy work and public service. Key Responsibilities will include helping with Right to Information responses by interpreting legislation and drafting replies, researching other provinces' practices, preparing briefing notes for senior leaders, writing responses to letters for the minister, and working with departmental experts. Other related tasks may also be assigned. This role is a great opportunity to build skills in research, policy analysis, and understanding legislation, while gaining insight into how government policy is developed.

This role offers an opportunity for skills development and hands-on experience.

Need to have:

• Language requirement: English or Bilingual
• Excellent written communication skills
• Postsecondary level studies in programs related to Public Administration, Policy, Law, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, or related fields.

Nice to have: Students with strong analytical thinking/judgement and advanced planning/organizational skills.
