The Department of Health is seeking two individuals to join the Acute Care Branch as Health Care Clinical Consultants, in Fredericton.
As a Health Care Clinical Consultant, you will:
- Provide direction, oversight, visioning, planning, facilitation, and evaluation of proposed enhancements or additions to ensure the management and delivery acute care services province-wide are aligned to the Government of New Brunswick's strategic vision, are consistent with evidence-informed best practices, and reflect provincial priorities.
- Advise the Department of Health on clinical practice standards, program planning, construction/renovation planning, budget management and staffing standards in relation to the Regional Health Authorities.
- Work in collaboration with the Regional Health Authorities to ensure effective communication and networking for a better understanding of management and clinical issues.
- Support provincial programs related to patient care such as, but not limited to the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE), Trauma NB Health, NB Heart, Organ and Tissue Donation, Perinatal Health and Family Planning and assuming a leadership role in the development of policies and procedures and implementation of new projects and programs.
- Participate in departmental and/or interdepartmental committees and working groups as necessary as well as collaborating with partners within the Atlantic provinces and across Canada.
- Provide support to the Executive Director on correspondence, briefing notes, reports and other projects as required.

Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a minimum of six (6) years of related experience, one position must have a minimum of 3 years experience in a critical care setting in the hospital;
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered;
- Written and spoken competence in English and French is required for one position and written and spoken competence in English is required for the other position. Please state your language capability on your application.

In the event that this competition poses difficulties in recruiting a qualified candidate, a covering off appointment at a lower level may be made. In that case, candidates with less than the required related years of experience may also be considered.
Asset Qualifications: Preference may be given to candidates who possess one or more of the following asset qualifications:
- Project Management or Program Development
- Knowledge of the healthcare system in New Brunswick
Candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications, in order to be given further consideration.

Salary: $76,622 to $101,920 per annum (Pay Band 6)
