Job Summary
The Word Processing Equipment Operator I (WPEO) works as part of a team to provide administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources Department, Employee Service Centre. The WPEO serve as the first point of contact for staff, clients, applicants, and new hires.
This includes the preparation of confidential correspondences related to Compensation and Benefits, Leave Administration, Health Benefits, Public Service Pension Plan, Government Money Pension Plan, Salaried Physicians and other related HR Employee Services initiatives. The position also involves inputting of data/correspondences into electronic databases and workflow management systems. It is also responsible for organizing and processing incoming and outgoing mail, as well as maintaining file room/electronic records. Other related duties as required.

Job Qualifications
Education
Successful completion of a one-year Office Administration program from an approved/recognized college is required.*
Experience
Considerable administrative experience, preferably in Human Resources, and demonstrated experience in customer service.
Demonstrated experience in MS Office is required and HRIS experience would be an asset.
Competencies
Demonstrated attention to detail, superior organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, excellent customer service skills.
Knowledge of collective agreement administration and compensation and benefits would be an asset.
Demonstrated exceptional problem solving, interpersonal/communication and organizational skills.
Ability to multi-task, meet strict timelines, and deal with competing demands.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required.
An Excel, and PowerPoint test may be administered by the Department of Human Resources. Scores of 60% are required.

A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
*Proof of a current office administration program is required. To be considered current, it must have been completed within the last five years, unless it has been used in recent positions. This must be demonstrated on the application form.
