The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development is seeking a Bilingual Administrative Assistant for the Teacher Certification Office, part of the Policy and Planning Branch, in Fredericton. If you are looking for a dynamic, team-oriented environment, this is the position for you!
What you will do:
Reporting to the Registrar, you will participate in the proper functioning of the teaching staff certification process by performing a wide variety of administrative tasks.
The key responsibilities of the positions are:
- Receive, file, and compile a wide variety of documents.
- Prepare and send official certification documents to the applicant.
- Collaborate with School Districts to collect information.
- Respond to public inquiries in a timely manner.
- Monitoring the branch email inbox, update database.
- Track payments and deposits.
- Prepare and modify forms.
- Arrange meetings for the registrar.
- Perform other related tasks as required.

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:
Required Competencies:
- Post-secondary Diploma in Office Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of related experience performing administrative tasks.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.
Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration. Please ensure that preferred language for assessment is identified on your resume.
Nice to have:
- Experience in providing information to the public.
- Experience in Microsoft Office tools, exceptional in Microsoft Excel.

Wage:
ASL 3 - $1,625 to $1,971 bi-weekly.
Work environment:
- Office location: 250 King Street, Fredericton, N.B.
- Standard hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
