SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

JOB SUMMARY:
The successful candidate supports the nurse manager in the planning, organization, coordination and evaluation of optimal nursing and contributes to the delivery of the highest quality clinical care. The incumbent acts as a clinical leader for the care staff as well as the multidisciplinary team. The incumbent is also responsible for the specialized orientation and ongoing training of nursing staff in their sector. Using an evidence-based approach, the incumbent also participates in the drafting and updating of policies, procedures and protocols as well as in the implementation of best practices. The incumbent collaborates in the administration of the department as well as the management of staff and assists the nurse manager in their administrative duties. The incumbent may have to perform any other related duties as per the needs of the department.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Registration with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick;
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing;
- Minimum of five years' relevant clinical experience in the past eight years;
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate;
- Successful completion of nursing certification programs specific to the unit within set time frame;
- Proven skills as a leader and as a change agent;
- Ability to remain calm during sometimes tense situations;
- Ability to manage time and assigned workload effectively;
- Ability to communicate with employees, clients and visitors with tact and courtesy;
- Good judgment along with problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills;
- Sense of responsibility;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Physical ability to perform the assigned work;
- Good work history (performance and attendance);
- Adherence to professional ethical principles, the Network's management philosophy, and organizational values;
- Compliance with the rules of confidentiality set by Vitalité Health Network.
