Role Description:
The Director, Human Resources, will be responsible for the strategic development and execution of the firm's staff talent strategy across all areas of business. The Director's portfolio includes recruitment, compensation, benefits, employee relations, performance management, policy development and implementation, and various other people-focused projects. With the support of a team of dedicated human resources professionals, the successful candidate will develop and implement innovative programs and policies to ensure Stewart McKelvey is continuously positioned as an employer of choice. By focussing on retaining a diverse, productive, and engaged workforce, the Director, Human Resources, will ensure that employees are equipped to manage evolving business needs and a changing labour market.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement communications and change management strategies to build teamwork and support the Firm's vision and core values;
- Lead and advise managers across the Firm on performance management, including job design, appraisal, feedback, and compensation;
- Identify and implement best practices for attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse, productive, flexible, and engaged workforce;
- Proactively advise management on workforce planning, providing information and analysis to reduce skills gaps;
- Develop effective and efficient onboarding practices, ensuring inclusivity and cultural sensitivities are maintained at all times;
- Continuously conduct market research to identify and recommend competitive payroll practices and compensation levels/adjustments;
- Collaborate with the Compensation & Benefits Manager to oversee the group benefits plan for all employees;
- Ensure consistency in integration of approved HR policies across the firm, developing new policies as needed, and ensuring all policies remain appropriate following any changes to employment legislation;
- Provide counsel, mentorship and guidance on any HR-related matters to all managers across the Firm, and the greater HR team.

Your qualifications will include:
- Post-secondary education with an emphasis in Human Resources or Business Administration, or equivalent training and experience;
- CPHR designation is considered an asset;
- A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive human resources experience;
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Demonstrated success and ability in leading and motivating various teams towards company/department goals and objectives;
- Strong integrity and professionalism, with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information;
- Demonstrated resiliency, flexibility, and adaptability within a complex and ever-changing environment.
