Horizon's Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital (DECRH) is located in Fredericton, the capital city of New Brunswick. The DECRH is partnered with Dalhousie University and is a teaching site for Family Medicine residents, as well as medical students in an innovative longitudinal clerkship program. The Geriatric Medicine outpatient clinic is based at the nearby Woodbridge Centre facility. You'd be joining a dynamic team of three internist Geriatricians in a collegial environment which supports your flexibility to pursue clinical, educational, quality improvement and administrative interests.
Incentives & Remuneration:
This is a salaried position with a base range of $273,962 - $302,796. Participation in the General Internal Medicine on-call service is optional and is remunerated additionally in a fee-for-service model.

- Urban recruitment incentive of $50,000.00 with a 2-year return of service.

Who you are
- Geriatric Medicine specialist (Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent).
- Must hold a valid license to practice medicine in the Province of New Brunswick.
- A member in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick and the Atlantic Registry.
- Must have current malpractice insurance from the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) appropriate to the category of practice.
- Bilingualism (French/English) would be considered an asset.
What you will do
As a Geriatrician, you will establish a full-time practice offering both inpatient and outpatient services:
- Provide assessment and management of both new and follow-up outpatients through the Geriatric Medicine Clinic at the Woodbridge Centre in Fredericton.
- Provide inpatient consultations upon request in Fredericton and Oromocto hospitals.
- Provide consultations to local nursing home residents at the request of the primary care provider.
- Provide consultations at home, if desired.
- Collaborate in the care of older adults admitted to the inpatient rehabilitation unit at the DECRH, including attending weekly interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Engage in clinical teaching for resident physicians and medical students. Didactic and small-group teaching opportunities are also available.
