Summary

The User Management software development team, part of the Bell Media Technology group, designs and builds core software components that support all Bell Media brands, including Crave, TSN, CTV, and more. Our product portfolio enables capabilities such as account management, service provisioning, authentication, authorization, and live rights management.

We are a team of highly skilled professionals committed to building reliable, scalable, and high-quality software aligned with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • As a Senior Developer – Technical Lead, you will play a dual role, combining deep technical expertise with leadership responsibilities:

    Technical

    • Write high-quality, maintainable code and lead by example.
    • Architect and guide complex distributed systems.
    • Provide design direction and ensure coherence across the software portfolio.
    • Promote best practices and drive operational excellence.
    • Lead process improvements to enhance service reliability and scalability.

    Leadership

    • Lead Agile ceremonies (planning, standups, reviews, retrospectives).
    • Coordinate team productivity and delivery.
    • Mentor developers to support growth and technical excellence.
    • Communicate technical and business context across teams and stakeholders.
Critical Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of software development experience, including team leadership.
  • Advanced proficiency in Java and Spring Boot (or similar object-oriented languages).
  • Strong experience with distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles: OOP, design patterns, DDD.
  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, unit testing, and TDD.
  • Familiarity with MongoDB, Kafka, and real-time stream processing.
  • Knowledge of web technologies and protocols: HTTP, REST, gRPC, VueJS, Bootstrap.
  • Strong communication skills in both French and English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Python, Go, Node.js, or TypeScript.
  • Practical knowledge of Domain-Driven Design and security best practices.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Strong networking and cross-functional collaboration skills.
