What you will be doing…
- Reporting to the Manager of Libraries and Learning Commons, you will develop, monitor and evaluate public services provided by the NSCC Libraries. These services include, but are not limited to, access services/fulfillment, resource sharing, public services, reference services, and promotions.
- You will have overall accountability for the provision of a prompt, efficient, and quality interlibrary loan/document delivery service for NSCC including, but not limited to, managing the interlibrary loan software; ensuring that consortia interlibrary loan agreements are adhered to, both regionally and nationally; and requests are filled or cancelled within established time frames.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the Libraries and Learning Commons website and staff intranet.
- Design and develop promotional materials for services, events and activities in the Libraries and Learning Commons.
- This position works collaboratively with a central team of librarians and library technicians within the NSCC Libraries and Learning Commons department, provides guidance, training and support to campus library staff across the province, and develops and maintains partnerships across consortia including Novanet and CAAL-CBPA.
Qualifications and Occupational Experience:
- The minimum educational qualification for this position is a diploma in Library and Information Technology.
- You have a minimum of three years (full time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in an academic library environment, including extensive experience with library services platforms and discovery layers (preferably Alma and Primo), particularly in the areas of access services and fulfillment.
- You have experience working with interlibrary loan and document delivery systems and software (e.g., Relais).
- Experience with graphic design tools is considered an asset (e.g., Canva)
- You have strong demonstrated computer literacy skills including Microsoft 365
- You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work
- Experience supporting/providing service to adult learners and prospective students would be considered an asset.
