Salary range: $44,683.28to $49,695.30 annually
As part of the Pictou Campus, the Administrative Assistant will report to the Academic Chair, School of Trades and Transportation, Technology and Environment, and Business and Creative Industries and you will:
- Provide confidential, day-to-day administrative and organizational support to the Academic Chair.
- Provide a full range of administrative support services including managing the day-to-day administrative and supportive functions, activities, and programs of the department. This entails logistical planning for meetings, program scheduling, calendar management, record keeping, file management, project management support as well as managing and organizing data.
- You will also field inquires to the School of Trades and Transportation, Technology and Environment, and Business and Creative Industries in relation to programs including greeting students/industry/general public and booking appointments for the Academic Chair.
- Additional duties will include supporting departmental staff, coordinating special events and liaising with the internal and external communities, facilitating course feedback with learners, as well as other related administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Occupational Experience:
The minimum educational qualification for this position is a post-secondary certificate or diploma in business or office administration. High school completion with significant years of administrative experience (10+) will also be considered.
You have a minimum of three years of recent and related occupational experience in a fast-paced office environment.
Occupational experience that includes Peoplesoft software would be considered an asset.
You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail and Teams.
You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology, and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work.
Experience supporting/providing service to students and prospective students would be considered an asset.
