Casual Position (approximately 35 hours/week): Commencing approximately July 15, 2024 (and ending approximately January 31, 2025)
Hourly Rate: $22-$24/Hour

Reporting to a Research Scientist, you will:
- Provide technical assistance for projects led by Research Scientists. This involves assisting with day-to-day operations of a project to meet the research objectives and commitments with collaborating partners and funding agencies.
- Conduct fieldwork in support of data acquisition missions which may require both indoor and outside working environments.
Qualifications and Occupational Experience:
The minimum educational qualification for this position is a diploma, advanced diploma and/or a degree in a related field or discipline specific to the nature of the research project such as natural resources, environmental science, biology, horticulture, and/or agriculture.
- You have a minimum of two years (full-time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in a research environment which includes fieldwork.
Occupational experience that includes crop management, crop sampling, soil sampling, and nutrient analysis, as well as running pot to plot level field experiments would be considered an asset.
You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and e-mail.
- You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work.
- Experience supporting/providing service to students and prospective students would be considered an asset.

- Technical occupational knowledge and skill in LiCor 6800 photosynthetic system, Auto analyzer, high performance liquid chromatograph, using environmental chambers and conducting tissue culture would be considered assets.

- You possess excellent coordination skills specifically related to setting up, managing and conducting research projects.
- You have proven records and information management skills and abilities specifically related to working with industry, associations, and/or not for profit organizations.
- You have strong project management skills related to research activities.
