Summary

The incumbent is responsible for establishing IT infrastructure orientations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops, communicates and obtains management approval for major technological orientations
  • Acts as contact person for the MCN's Evolution and Innovation Committee (CEI)
  • Ensures that the various deliverables (e.g. engineering guides) are updated on a regular basis and in line with orientations
  • Participates in the analysis of new requirements and technological impacts on the existing infrastructure (preparation of SDC change requests)
  • Supervises relations between technical teams and suppliers
  • Is responsible for the technological and software obsolescence plan
  • Validates compliance with guidelines when acquiring equipment, software and service contracts
  • Validates, analyzes and advises on actions to be taken regarding service levels
  • Promote, through actions and decisions, a customer-oriented approach and participative management focused on continuous improvement and results
Critical Qualifications
  • Possess an undergraduate degree in computer science or an appropriate field
  • Must have at least 10 years' experience as a technology architect in similar environments, including a large share of provincial telecommunications infrastructures (MPLS and Internet), Windows and Linux processing infrastructures, software and applications
  • Must have carried out at least 1 intervention as a technology architect for the purpose of designing or implementing hosting or telecommunication rooms for production technology environments
  • Must have designed, in at least 2 interventions, recurring performance measurement processes to monitor targeted service levels
  • Lead coordination of multiple technology stakeholders on one 1 major project (> 10,000 d-p or > $25 M equipment, software and M/O)
  • Demonstrate solid knowledge of software for managing a technological environment, as well as the security mechanisms and tools required to operate a processing center
  • Demonstrate essential skills in leadership, planning and organization, facilitation, communication and decision-making
  • At least 5 years' experience in the use of best practices in information technology management (ITIL)
