As a result of our robust growth, we are adding an Oiler/Deckhand to our team of professionals.
Primary duties of this role include but are not limited to:
- This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance work of the ship's engines, deck equipment and auxiliary equipment.
- Monitor engine, machinery and equipment indicators, record variables and report abnormalities to the engineer.
- Lubricate moving parts of engines, machinery and auxiliary equipment.
- Maintain engine parts and keep engine room clean.
- Ensuring that adequate stores and supplies are available while maintaining relevant inventories.
- Deck work is required, assisting operations on deck when needed, and training will be provided.
Qualifications/Requirements/Attributes:
- Marine Emergency Duties (MED) A1
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR
- WHMIS Certificate
- Valid Passport with the ability to enter the US
- Valid Transport Canada Marine Medical
- Able to handle multiple tasks.
- Experience using deck machinery or equipment.
- A certification in the Transportation of Dangerous Goods will be considered an asset.
As per company policy, a clear result of a pre-employment criminal background check.
The ideal candidate will have two (2) years of experience in a relevant field (or a combination of experience and training).
