The Actemium Plant Systems team is looking to add an experienced Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to their team. Ideally, this individual will be technically strong and have a natural affinity for project coordination . Essentially, we need a knowledgeable, central person, able to wear different hats, can use their technical ability to ensure project deliverables are being met, and when necessary can assist in project coordination to ensure projects remain on schedule and on budget.

With experience, the Intermediate Mechanical Engineer will take on more responsibility within projects and will be able to work more independently.

Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of a senior engineer, the successful candidate will work with project managers and specialists to ensure that all aspects of the project are carried out and cared for. You will work on projects of varying sizes and complexity providing management assistance, liaising between the Client and Project Manager, or more Senior Engineering staff. You will be required to conduct engineering studies, perform cost evaluations, plan and spec reviews, field and site observations, and field work, as required. Field work may include travel within Atlantic Canada or internationally.

Qualifications

• BSc. Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 2-3 years experience working in an engineering environment
• Direct work experience demonstrating mechanical design knowledge and problem-solving skills of electromechanical equipment, mechanisms, and precision equipment.
• Direct project experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset.
• Work experience in Food and Beverage manufacturing environments is an asset
• Understanding of electrical systems, industrial controls, and automation an asset
• Currently enrolled, or eligible to register, as a Professional Engineer with Engineers NS or NB.
• Proficient use of AutoCAD and SolidWorks software is an asset
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with GD&T; CSA and ANSI drawing standards
• Knowledge of pneumatic system components and creation of schematics
• Practical experience with risk management, product testing, capability studies and control plans
• Highly motivated and self-directed, capable of multi-tasking, and able to work with minimal supervision
• Able to create and review technical documentation, including project plans, test procedures and design documents
• Exemplary written and oral communication skills are mandatory
• High degree of professionalism is a must

Please note, candidates must be a permanent resident or citizen of Cananda, with a current work permit legally be able to work in Canada. Candidates must also be willing/able to travel for approximately 15% of the work year, both inside and outside of Canada.
