About Our Opportunity
Under the direction of the Accountant, the Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for a wide range of clerical and accounting functions concerning the payment of invoices for Western District. Responsibilities include processing invoices, maintaining related records, preparing monthly disbursements and reports using a computerized accounting system.
- Process accounts payable invoices in accordance with Housing Agency procedures and guidelines.
- Perform data entry, including accurate tax accounting, verification of cost centre and general ledger accounts, as well as flagging of labour, materials and/or both for Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) reporting.
- Produce cheques and match invoices, maintain accounts payable files, including bring forward system for purchase orders and unpaid invoices.
- Track employee payments, such as boot allowances and mileage, as well as billing employees for personal expenses, such as phone charges, etc.
- Successful completion of a Business Administration program in Bookkeeping or Accounting, plus three years' related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Knowledge of clerical accounting practices and procedures related to cost centres, general ledger accounts and financial transaction processing.
- Thorough knowledge of computerized accounts payable accounting system.

- Competency in Yardi Property Management Software.
