MBA, FACULTY OF BUSINESS
The UNB Saint John MBA program is a unique, one-year program offered in an accelerated format. Students study over 5 consecutive academic modules and may participate in an experiential learning opportunity during one of the final two modules. The full-time program has yearly enrollments of over 100 students as well as approximately 30 active part-time students. The program has global reach with at least 12 countries represented within the student body each year. The teaching staff consists of full-time and contract academic employees offering a variety of general and specialized courses as well as a substantive professional development program offered by subject matter experts.

Salary Range: $48,160 - $60,208 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Director of the MBA Program, the Academic Programs & Student Support Coordinator provides strategic, outcome-based leadership in academic programming, class management and program integrity. This position is responsible for oversight of the academic components of the program, both student and faculty accommodation management and academic program planning for both full- and part-time students.

  • Provide academic and stream advising to students. Conduct regular check-in meetings, offer guidance on program requirements, discuss academic progress, and provide general support.
  • Assist students with program management and course selection.
  • Assist with the course registration process. Ensure that students enroll in appropriate courses and meet academic requirements.
  • Manage advanced standing, transfer credit assessment, qualifying year assessments and recommendations, and non-regular starts or restarts.
  • Advise students on study abroad opportunities. Support their transition into study abroad options.
  • Support the identification of students at risk. Assist in the implementation of program restrictions.
  • Connect students with service providers for physical/academic accommodation and health and wellness support and support any necessary accommodation.
  • Oversee MBA Society budget and activities. Act as MBA Society Liaison.
  • Assist in the scholarship process, including communication, application processes and award distribution.
  • Develop, update, review, and implement student-focused policy and regulations documents including student handbooks and website content.
  • Support academic integrity through management and tracking of academic misconduct complaints and the appeals process.
  • Ensure alignment of programming and course documents with AACSB requirements
  • Manage proper data collection and reporting related to AACSB requirements.
  • Coordinate Final Deliverables Schedule.
  • Support faculty with class schedules, make-up classes, academic misconducts and other activities as required.
  • Maintain an accurate data record and tracking system of the student's entire lifecycle.
  • Develop, maintain, and track budget related to the role (marking, instructor support, invigilation)
  • Coordinate shared student calendar.
  • Develop and propose a draft budget related to the duties of the position.
  • Propose and submit a yearly work plan with target outcomes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in academic or corporate contexts.

Additional Strengths

  • Graduate-level degree preferred.
  • MBA and coaching experience are considered assets.
  • Proven experience in conflict management, culturally diverse environments and high-stress situations.
  • Able to work collaboratively within a team and manage responsibilities independently.
  • Able to adapt to changing circumstances, manage multiple projects at one time and develop and maintain relationships.
