Pathways Coordinator (Transfer Credit and Articulation)

The University of Fredericton is actively seeking a Pathways Coordinator to develop and manage academic and professional partnerships that strategically align with current and planned programs. The Pathways Coordinator will create and coordinate the articulation functions between the University of Fredericton and other institutes of higher education, including but not limited to universities and community colleges, as well as assist in the development of other external partnerships that support students and alumni, including professional associations. As well, the Pathways Coordinator will be responsible for data integrity and consistency and demonstrate knowledge of transfer credits trends and practices within Canada and internationally.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the university's articulation programs, procedures and policies.
  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain a comprehensive articulation program and liaise with the representative articulation staff at partner institutions.
  • Initiate and facilitate meetings with internal and external constituents to review transferability criteria from other institutions.
  • Provide consultation to the faculty, Dean, Associate Dean, and other university representatives on course and program articulation issues, especially as related to the review, revision, and development of courses with transfer preparation and articulation potential.
  • Consult with the Registrar, Dean, Vice President, and Academics regarding the establishment of transfer agreements and memorandums of understanding (MOU).
  • Regularly keep the university community, including the university's administrators informed of the status regarding articulation agreements, transfer agreements, and MOUs.
  • Maintain data and analyze statistical information to identify trends in academic partnerships.
  • Work with faculty, the Registrar, Dean, and the Vice President to assist with required five-year curriculum reviews and updates as required.
  • Maintain articulation files, prepare, and disseminate curriculum and articulation reports as required by the university.
  • Participate in university articulation-related activities to be informed of and to assure timely compliance.
  • Verifies, enters, assesses, retrieves, and maintains transfer credit database.
  • Conducts research on content, grading practices, and reciprocal agreements for other sending and receiving institutions.
  • Creates, updates, and maintains internal procedures for handling documents and evaluating transfer credit for both foreign and domestic institutions as well as creating procedures to ensure UFred fulfills its receiving institution responsibilities.
  • Ensures institutional guidelines and policies on transfer credit are followed and that unclear cases are resolved appropriately, advises Registrar when there are broader implications.
  • Primary resource for troubleshooting problems with transfer credit articulations; resolves problems and assists other staff with solving problems.
  • Improves and streamlines transfer credit processes and assists in removing barriers for student success.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (education, business, etc.); a graduate degree will be considered an asset.
  • At least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified above.
  • Proficiency in project management (professional certification considered an asset)
  • Experience working in a university or post-secondary environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills that include ability to build consensus, foster teamwork among a variety of stakeholders and lead integrated projects.
  • An independent, proactive thinker who thrives in a cooperative team environment and is comfortable working from home as required.
  • Proficient in MS office suite of tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience working in a collaborative, paperless professional environment.

Hours of work

This is a full-time position (35 hours), under regular business hours, Monday-Friday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM. The position is available in Fredericton, NB with the possibility to work remotely, and attend in-office meetings, as required.
