FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT
The Undergraduate Programs and Student Services Office provides academic advising and student support to undergraduate Faculty of Management students, with goals to foster student success and retention. The Programs Office communicates information to students on curriculum, course options, and university policies and regulations, and provides referrals to campus resources. The Programs Office works with the Recruitment Office and Admissions Office on the promotion of these programs and services and managing student enrollment.

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 36.25 hours per week
Salary Range: $23.59 - $27.92 per hour
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs, the Secretary PL5 (BBA Student Support Coordinator) is responsible for advising students on academic program planning and completion requirements as well as faculty regulations, and policies. The Coordinator provides program support in areas such as recruitment planning, assessing admission files and transfer credits, and graduation. This position also liaises with other faculties and departments and provides promotional assistance for programs and services.
- Advise BBA students on course selection and program options including Honours and Concentrations requirements, co-op, and other experiential opportunities in the faculty.
- Complete program audits to confirm students are on track for program completion. Assist with graduation audits as needed.
- Advise PAEP students in preparation for entrance into the BBA program after English studies are completed.
- Host and present advising information sessions. Coordinate events relating to student support.
- Attend Academic Advising Committee meetings.
- Participate in professional development opportunities (i.e., webinars).
- Facilitate the mapping of course equivalencies by the faculty for external partners and pathway programs.
- Act as the contact person for pathways students before their registrations in BBA courses and/or arrival in Fredericton.
- Manage spreadsheets of pathway students regarding their partnership, starting term, credit hours completed and graduation status for the Director of Pathways Programs and the Deanery.
- Assist with assessing internal and external student files from the Registrar's Office. Determine program admissibility.
- Assist with transfer credit assessments for students entering the faculty.
- Assist with orientation or other student programming, as needed.
- Participate in events promoting UNB and the Faculty of Management in particular.
- Provide information to prospective students and meet with potential students and parents.
- Generate XAM9, waitlist management, and other reports in Colleague and Informer.
- Maintain advising notes for the BBA Advising Office, including faculty policies and process documents.
- Serve on student support committees, as determined by the Dean.
- Liaise with various UNB departments.
- Assist with other tasks as needed.
WHAT YOU BRING
- A University Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- 3 years of experience working in a post-secondary environment.
Additional Strengths
- A master's degree is considered a strong asset.
- Experience in coursework, counseling, or academic advising is considered a strong asset.
- Experience in the development of programming across faculties and departments as part of student transition programs, student development, academic advising, and recruiting would be an asset.
- Familiarity with D2L and Brightspace is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with UNB and/or university policies and procedures would be an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, tactfully, and efficiently.
- An understanding of transition theory and student development theory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe software as well as database management programs.
- Ability to multitask and handle increased workload during high-volume periods.
