FACULTY OF KINESIOLOGY: UNB REDS
The University of New Brunswick REDS are the non-academic unit within the Faculty of Kinesiology. Through athletics and recreation programming they strive to be national leaders in wellness, sport, and recreation excellence. The REDS also lead many internal and external general events across various facilities in hopes of being engaged within our community.

Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 8:15 am - 4:30 pm | 36.25 hours per week
Salary Range: $51,238 - $66,609 per annum

YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Executive Director, REDS, the Financial Manager will be responsible for managing and oversight of the REDS budgets (UREC, Athletics & Operations). This position provides management and oversees all financial and business activities as it relates to the REDS and is responsible for financial leadership, reporting and monitoring all financial accounts, as well as supervision of financial staff.
- Conduct financial analysis, forecasting and reporting, interpretation of reports and financial recommendations.
- Prepare financial needs analysis for major capital equipment purchases for REDS Athletics, Recreation and Operations (ARO).
- Identify unit financial strategies and challenges within the REDS
- Identify opportunities and strengths within the units. Take advantage of new or existing opportunities.
- Oversee risk management and legal activities such as letters of agreement, contracts, leases, procurement, and other legal agreements and documents.
- Develop and implement a system for tracking and reporting on financial accounts.
- Oversee reporting and monitoring of REDS financial performance metrics.
- Maintain and monitor REDS operational budgets. Review accounts for accuracy and reconcile.
- Oversee the purchase of computers, equipment, furniture, and supplies.
- Liaise with outside agencies and companies.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director in the preparation and submission of annual operating budgets.
- Supervision of two financial staff members.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
- A University Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role.
Additional Strengths
- Knowledge of University financial environment would be considered an asset.
- Previous supervisory experience would be considered an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and leadership skills with the ability to implement financial solutions.
- Ability to work independently, accurately, and responsibly with minimal supervision.
- High attention to detail and high level of confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
