Regional Manager of Pharmacy Services (Classification Under Review)
Western Memorial Regional Hospital

Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services - Western zone currently requires a Regional Manager of Pharmacy Services on a permanent full-time basis at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook.

DUTIES: Reporting to the Zone Director of Pharmacy, this position is responsible for management and operational leadership of Pharmacy Services throughout the Western zone. The manager is responsible for the efficient and effective use of resources, as well as, the quality of services provided. . This position is also accountable for:
" Providing leadership, direction and technical expertise in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of medication safety policies and Accreditation Canada medication standards throughout the Western zone
" Participation in pharmacy and interdisciplinary committees
" Responsible and accountable for the planning and management of patient-centered pharmaceutical care services designed for their assigned regional clinical programs and administrative responsibilities as assigned
" Financial management including budgeting
" Participation in the development, implementation and evaluation of Pharmacy Services strategic directions and objectives
" Human Resources management including performance review and attendance management
" Responsible for the development and oversight of quality assurance programs regionally for Pharmacy Services (eg. equipment, product testing, clean room testing.)
" Responsible for establishing core competencies and oversight of training for Pharmacy staff (, hazardous medication training, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Candidates must have proven management and leadership abilities, excellent communication skills and be able to function effectively in a high pressure, diverse and changing environment. Candidates must be able to utilize information systems technologies for communication, word processing, spreadsheet applications and other common needs. Candidates must be able to create and maintain effective working relationships with other individuals in superior, peer, subordinate and client positions. Candidates must be able to travel to multiple sites within the Western zone.

Educational requirements include graduation from an approved School of Pharmacy and licensure with the Newfoundland and Labrador Pharmacy Board. Previous hospital pharmacy experience or completion of a residency program would be considered an asset. A minimum of five years experience as a practicing pharmacist is required.

**A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
