Salary: To be commensurate with qualifications and experience in the range of $53,670 - $65,730 per annum.

Responsibilities

Acadia seeks to fill an Advancement Services Officer, Donations and Research position and an Advancement Services Officer, Finance and Reporting position in our Office of Advancement. These two positions are part of a job rotation opportunity where the incumbents will rotate between these two positions every 4 months to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and skills in the department.

In this job rotation opportunity, you will gain exposure to two areas of Advancement - Donations and Research and Finance and Reporting, which will provide you with acquisition of new knowledge and competencies through practicing between the two roles. You will have the opportunity to work on various donor, alumni, student, community, and faculty projects, broadening your exposure to Advancement activities. Both positions report directly to the Director, Advancement Services and will serve as a key resource to the Office of Advancement and the University. In these Advancement Services Officer roles, you will be required to know all donor agreements and terms, CASE Reporting Standards, and Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Gifting and Receipting rules and regulations.

When in the Advancement Services Officer, Donations and Research role you will be the primary point of contact for donations management, compliance, and research requests. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with gifting and receipting rules and regulations, managing donor funds, donor and prospect administration and support. Duties include the allocation of sizeable donations and sponsorships, issuing official donation receipts and obtaining donor documentation, pledge reminders and expiring pledges, prospect research, data quality, consistency, and accuracy.

When in the Advancement Services Officer, Finance and Reporting role you will be the primary point of contact for reporting and accountability of donor funds and Advancement finance. You will be responsible for ensuring transparency and outstanding reporting on donor funds. Duties include preparing financial and donor reports, surveys, statistical graphs, and prospect research.

Qualifications
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in business administration or related area of study with emphasis in accounting, finance and/or business planning.

  • We are seeking candidates with knowledge and experience in Business Administration / Accounting / Advancement Management / CRA Regulations / CASE Reporting Standards / FOIPOP and other privacy legislation.

  • Enrolment in or plan to purse a Chartered Professional Accountant designation an asset.

  • Excellent judgment and analytical skills are necessary for this role. Sensitivity to work with detailed and strictly confidential material is required.

  • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with other departments, donors and key stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated proficiency and accuracy in database management is essential.

  • Applicants must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and comfortable working in a technology supported environment.

  • Experience working with Colleague by Ellucian and Informer by Entrinsik (Business Analytics Software) an asset.
