Acadia seeks to fill an Events Coordinator and Reservations Support position in our Events Acadia Department. As part of Events Acadia, you will be joining staff who are passionate about the work they do and who work together to produce eye-opening and unforgettable events that will market Acadia as a top destination.
Under the direction of the Director, Events Acadia, you will ensure clients receive a high-quality experience through ensuring all aspects of events are planned according to client specifications and university guidelines in a timely fashion and delivered to attendees and external audiences as required. In this role you will assist in producing events from conception through to completion by participating in all aspects of event planning. This will include developing event contingency plans, planning timelines, booking venues, event technology support, partnering with volunteers, registration, event promotion, delivery, meeting customer service needs, event wrap-up and reporting.
In collaboration with members of the Events Acadia team, you will participate in the development and implementation of marketing strategies for events, the department, and the university. You will also assist the Reservations Assistant with scheduling and booking needs, particularly during peak times of the year.
Applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule which may at times include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
We are seeking a creative and imaginative thinker who can visualize the ultimate guest experience for each event. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree or Events Management Certification with related experience in event planning and management. Equivalent combination of training, education and experience may be considered.
The ideal candidate will be a motivated, highly organized individual with an intense focus on detail, order, and accuracy.
We are seeking a candidate who has proven experience delivering a high level of client service and demonstrated ability to think clearly and resolve issues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work within a collaborative environment are required.
