Your Contribution
Our Calgary office requires the services of an Intermediate Civil Technologist to join our Municipal Infrastructure team. The position is for an individual searching for a fulfilling position that allows for exposure to a variety of projects and an opportunity to grow your technical knowledge base.
This diverse position will require the individual to undertake design drafting assignments, as well as field surveys and general field inspection. The successful candidate will manage multiple priorities and deadlines and will work between an office and site environment, liaising with clients, contractors, developers, third party utility providers as well as the public.
As an,Intermediate Civil Technologist, you will work in collaboration with the Municipal Infrastructure Team.
Your main responsibilities will be:
  • Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
  • Member or eligibility for membership in ASET.
  • Experience in design of water distribution, wastewater collection, transportation, stormwater management and drainage systems.
  • Experience in construction inspection and contract administration with an aptitude of general construction methods.
  • Cost estimating experience.
  • Ability to coordinate designs and construction inspections with multiple disciplines.
  • Civil3D experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience with contract administration and conducting general construction site reviews and/or survey experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong presentation, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, independent, and reliable with high attention to detail

Your Profile
  • Perform general project duties under the supervision of a Senior Engineer or Technologist.
  • Develop, prepare and review civil engineering design drawings and coordinate with the engineering Design Team.
  • Prepare cost estimates, design drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Perform construction administration and general construction supervision duties.
  • Oversee construction projects and ensure compliance to applicable by-laws, guidelines and regulations, and engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate third party crossing agreements.
  • Participate in project meetings with clients, contractors, public and stakeholders.
  • Prepare construction reports, memos, CCCs, FACs, daily inspection reports and other documents, and report work progress to engineers and other team members.
  • Complete site survey and construction survey layout on a variety of civil engineering projects.
