The salary scale for Professional Support 3 is based on twelve steps that range from $62,071.93 - $86,777.47. New Professional Support may receive up to a maximum of seven steps for relevant occupational experience which is $74,518.78 annually.
What you will be doing…
The Program Coordinator- Quality will report directly to the Dean of Trades and Transportation and will be responsible for the Quality Assurance System for the Transport Canada approved programming including: Marine Programs at the Strait Area and Shelburne Campuses as well as the Aviation Programs at the Ivany Campus. This work primarily focuses on developing, maintaining, and overseeing the Quality Assurance System and Documentation. You will be responsible to work directly with Academic Chairs, Instructors, and Transport Canada, liaising on procedures, audits, and regulatory requirements. Attention to detail and managing data are important aspects of the role. You will be liaising with the Academic chair in the planning, scheduling, and supporting Transport Canada audits, and in the closing of Audit reports. You will be responsible in the planning and conducting of internal NSCC audits. A focus on relationship building, clear communication and collaboration is important.

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:
- The minimum educational qualification for this position is a [GML1] two year college diploma in a related field.
- A Recognized Professional Certificate - Quality Assurance Certification : Quality Auditing or Quality Systems Management is considered an asset.
- You have a minimum of 3 years of recent and related occupational experience in Quality Assurance, quality systems management and/or leading quality system audits.
- Knowing of quality management systems following the ISO 9001 standard and other relevant systems to Aviation, Nautical or Fisheries.
- Occupational experience that includes Marine Transportation, Fisheries or Aviation would be considered an asset.
- Experience building, monitoring and continuously improving QMS systems.
- Experience working with Transport Canada or other regulatory bodies such as external auditors would be considered an asset.
- You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail, SharePoint, People Soft, Cognos .
- You are comfortable using digital platforms for communication (e.g. Teams, Outlook, SharePoint)
- You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional student experience
- Experience in Quality Assurance, training/facilitation, delivery, and evaluation is preferred.
- Experience working or teaching in a post-secondary environment is preferred.

As a condition of employment, Professional Support employees at NSCC must complete a two-year (part-time) adult education program delivered by NSCC. This adult education program is a significant investment on the part of NSCC in the learning and development of new employees. To achieve regular status; all probationary, full or part-time Professional Support employees of the College must successfully complete the program within their probationary period. Term full-time Professional Support employees whose term appointment is twelve or more months are also required to participate in this program.
