ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN SPATIAL INFORMATION SCIENCE

The University of New Brunswick's Department of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track position in Spatial Information Science at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position has an anticipated start date of 1 July 2023, or later as may be negotiated with the successful applicant, subject to final budgetary approval.

The salary range for this position is defined in the Association of University of New Brunswick Teachers (AUNBT) 2022 - 2025 Collective Agreement section 36B, and as of 1 July 2023 would be $94,101 to $134,650 Canadian Dollars. The starting salary is subject to annual economic adjustments as negotiated with AUNBT and annual "progress through the ranks" adjustments. Both are specified in section 36B of the Collective Agreement referenced above. Fringe benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, group life and family protection, long-term disability Insurance, and a pension plan.

The successful applicant will join the faculty team at UNB Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering, and will work in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. The location of work will be:

They will develop an innovative and impactful research program in Spatial Information Science including collaborations within and outside of the university. They will be expected to supervise students; to be active in service roles; to deliver graduate and undergraduate courses, including courses taught in a hybrid form; and to provide leadership in research and teaching at UNB and in professional, national and international communities. Work will be carried out in English.

Applicants must hold a PhD in geomatics engineering, spatial information science, or a related field, and must have academic work experience in these areas with evidence of excellence in research and teaching. Applicants must be eligible and willing to register as a Professional Engineer in the Province of New Brunswick as a condition of tenure.
