The Association of Seafood Producers ("ASP") is a not-for-profit industry trade association representing approximately 25 organizations of seafood producers across Newfoundland and Labrador. ASP is a unified voice that works for the betterment of the industry in the areas of public policy, sustainability, fisheries management, innovation and promotion of the NL seafood industry both provincially and globally.
ASP is currently seeking an Executive Director.
Accountable to the Board of Directors, The Executive Director ("ED"), is a strategic senior leader with an in depth understanding of governance, negotiations, industry trade association operations, a visionary champion of change, and understand public policy and membership engagement. As a trusted and engaged leader, the Executive Director nurtures strong relationships with the ASP staff, its members, external stakeholders, and partners. With a focus on sound business practices and fundamentals, the ED oversees and is accountable for negotiations, ensures growth of the organization, while creating an environment for success for its employees.
As an ideal candidate, you are an experienced leader with a demonstrated track record of success in a senior-level management role. You are solutions-oriented and possess the ability to translate our vision into common language in such a way that those following can relate to it. Comfortable as the face of an organization and speaking with media, you have a presence and are an engaging speaker who knows how to build a network and make connections that draw people to the association as their go-to seafood producers' representative. You are viewed as an independent and impartial collaborator who demonstrates diplomacy and integrity. You are an excellent communicator and relationship builder who exhibits trust and confidence at all levels. Previous leadership (ED, COO, CEO, etc.) experience in a trades association and negotiations would be considered an asset.
