Job Information and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Manager, Student Accessibility, the Exam Accommodations Administrator is responsible for test and exam accommodations, both in person and virtually. They will:

  • Receive all test and exam requests from students, liaise with faculty and coordinate accommodations and scheduling.
  • Ensure test(s) and exam(s) through the Fred Smithers Centre have been adapted to meet the required accommodations, i.e. use of specialized software and/or adaptive technology - Kurzweil, Kurzweil files, JAWS screen reader, enlarging tests, and setting up Dragon files. Enlarge documents when needed.
  • Recruit, train and supervise student invigilators and peer notetaking staff, inclusive of conducting interviews and payroll management.
  • Collect daily statistical information from test and exam requests.
  • Participate and organizes ongoing projects and new initiatives.
  • Provides accessibility support to faculty, and promotes inclusion of students with disabilities.

Experience and Education Requirements

To be the successful Exam Accommodations Administrator, you will have:

  • An Undergraduate degree.
  • Minimum 1 years directly related experience.
  • Experience using specialized software and/or adaptive technology.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
  • Knowledge and understanding of disability issues.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including Saturdays and evenings, as required.
  • Ability to work in a virtual environment as required.
