As Business Development Manager - Investments, the individual is responsible for achieving the sales objectives of individual and group savings products for the general agents and brokers assigned to him/her in his/her territory. In this role, the Business Development Manager must maintain strong business relationships with brokers and general agents, in addition to having a strong customer focus.
In addition to a thorough knowledge of individual and group investment products to a lesser extent, the candidate must be a dynamic and enthusiastic individual with strong problem solving skills. He/she will play a key role in the sales and marketing team in addition to representing Assumption to the general agents and brokers in his/her territory.
- Meet or exceed goals on sales calls, appointments, meetings, and sales targets.
- Implement a long-term sales development strategy for the line of business.
- Maintain and develop relationships with our distributors, who are our MGAs and our advisors.
- Implement a sale and retention strategy with our distributors. This strategy will include appointments to discuss their needs, make presentations to advisors, etc.
- Produce weekly sales reports.
- Proactively contact existing advisors to educate them on Assumption's products and how they can use the product line to grow their business.
- Seek out new advisors and distribution opportunities.
- Provide support to advisors in terms of business development and to add value to our distribution networks.
- Participate in promotional events as an ambassador of Assumption Life.
- University degree in business or in a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of the brokerage and general agent market in the Atlantic Provinces is a strong asset
- Minimum of five years experience in the financial services industry, preferably in brokerage.
- Experience in selling financial products.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office).
- Superior skills in oral and written communication in English. A knowledge (oral and/or written communication) of French would be an asset.

- LLQP, CFP, CLU, PFA or other industry designations would be assets.
