Events East Group, is now inviting applications for the position of Assistant Food and Beverage Manager with our Food and Beverage team. We are looking for an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager who can help Events East Group to continue to deliver top-quality events and guest experiences to our clients.
Role Description:
The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager Directly supervises a team that service events. This includes the planning, set-up, execution, tear down, and cleanup of all events. The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager set the tone for the catering team to ensure the highest guest satisfaction possible and bring innovation to each event. All duties are performed in accordance with the Nova Scotia laws and regulations, as well as following the policies and procedures of the Halifax Convention Centre.
Requirements:
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent. Diploma in Hospitality Management is preferred.
- Five years' experience as a supervisor in a high-volume restaurant or banquet facility.
- Knowledge of Food and Beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
Job Specific / Technical Knowledge
- Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and have a working knowledge of a POS systems.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
- Excellent hospitality skills.
- Ability to lead a team to get desired outcomes.
- Scheduling staff.
- Ability to make quick and accurate decisions.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds at a time.
- Ability to perform various activities such as constant standing, walking, frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting.
- Ability to work well around a large number of people.
- Can function in a high paced environment, under short time constraints and within established timelines.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be legally permitted to work in Canada.
