The Department of Human Resources at Mount Saint Vincent University invites applications for the term contract position of Human Resources Advisor - Job Analysis & Recruitment.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Advisor provides support to the HR Department and other University departments, primarily with job evaluation and job classification (job design), and recruitment activities.

This role is consultative to administrators, department heads, employees, and HR staff on matters relating to job design, job evaluation and classification. This position has a broad range of contact throughout the university and represents the HR department in a positive and proactive manner, while demonstrating HR's commitment to a high level of service. You will work with contacts across the university and provide support in updating job descriptions in preparation for the job evaluation process in accordance with collective agreements, guidelines, and university policies as applicable.

The Human Resources Advisor will support the Human Resources & Diversity Advisor with full-cycle recruitment. You will assist with posting jobs, screening applications, setting up interviews, and conducting reference checks.

Qualifications

The preferred candidate will have a post-secondary education in a related field, preferably in the field of Human Resources. Previous experience working in an academic environment is considered an asset. Current knowledge of Job Design and Job Evaluation best practices is desired. The preferred candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills, technical abilities, and communication skills. Candidates should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and have an aptitude for, or previous experience, using business enterprise systems such as Colleague and SharePoint.

Starting Salary: $45,000 per annum, pro-rated
