Responsibilities

What you will be doing…

As a member of the Student Services team, under the direction of the Manager, Student Services and functional guidance of the Director, Libraries and Learning Commons, you will play a key role in the provision of Testing Centre and Learning Commons services, including testing services, learning supports and general and assistive technology support. The Learning Commons Assistant/Test Centre Administrator is responsible for the administration of the Testing Centre and invigilation of internal and external testing, supports approved test accommodations and the assistive technology needs of students with disabilities and plays a key role in the coordination, delivery and promotion of services offered in the Learning Commons. You will collaborate with Student Services team members to create a supportive learning environment. The position is responsible for oversight and administration of processes and procedures; liaising with faculty, responding to inquiries; making referrals; collecting and recording service delivery data; and supporting campus events, activities, and initiatives.

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a post-secondary diploma in an area related to Adult Education, Education, Technology, Administration, Business, Social Services or Library Technician.
  • You have a minimum of two years (full-time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience.
  • Experience working in a testing environment would be considered an asset.
  • You have strong demonstrated experience using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail and Assistive Technology. Experience with PeopleSoft, Brightspace, EnCampus and Pearson VUE would be an asset.
  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work.
  • Experience supporting/providing service to students, including students with disabilities, in a post-secondary setting would be considered an asset.
