Bell Mobility Enterprise Sales is seeking a Solution Architect to manage the technical content of all data service proposals, design & coordinate the implementation of custom solutions for enterprise customers. The candidate selected will work with the Mobile Business Solutions team-a dynamic team responsible for developing and managing business opportunities for custom wireless data transmission solutions, and for providing business customers with technical support for the implementation and use of solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The incumbent reports to Sr. Mgr, Professional Services, and has the following responsibilities:
  • Interface with customers and sales account managers to assess technical requirements and work internally with Bell groups to deliver complete solutions to business customers;
  • Ensure that our customers operational & IT objectives are fully reflected in Bell's solution portfolios. Assess the technical feasibility and economic viability of the solutions proposed to customers;
  • Prepare and manage the technical content of business proposals and responses to invitations to bid for complex wireless data transmission solutions;
  • Lead custom wireless solutions as turn key projects or with partners and systems integrators;
  • Stay current with evolving technology; research various suppliers, evaluate new products and make recommendations on end-to-end solutions;
  • Coordinates activities associated with implementation of custom solutions & networks
  • Coordinates activities associated with piloting a solution which may include practical testing of the solutions proposed in VO LAB, e.g. support defining a test plan, assist setting up the environment and analyzing the results;
  • On the basis of his or her technical knowledge, may contribute to problem solving by assisting customers during pre-sale & post sale activities.

Critical, Skills and Abilities

  • The incumbent must have university degree in electrical engineering or telecommunications, and a sound knowledge of systems engineering, wireless network operations, 3G/4G/5G, & LTE-M/NB-IoT networks and protocols.
  • Understanding of other wireless protocols, networks and devices (WIFI, Bluetooth, Zigbee, etc)
  • The incumbent must also have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the telecommunications sector, along with solid communication skills. A knowledge of networking with industry recognized certification-the Internet, security IPv4, IPv6, IaaS and SaaS-is an important asset.
  • Should have strong understanding of IoT technology and trends (networks, devices, applications, application platforms).
  • Possess solid working knowledge of WAN technologies (VPN's, MPLS, Layer 2 Services, etc)
  • The incumbent must have a variety of skills, be able to work independently, and have excellent analytical, organizational, planning and project management skills. In addition, the incumbent must:
  • have a solid working knowledge of MS Office, Explorer, Visio
  • Understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) technologies/theory including antenna, signal enhancement, RF cabling, etc would be considered an advantage
