JOB SUMMARY:

Is responsible for clinical and technical aspects of respiratory therapy with respect to diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of patients with respiratory problems and/or under anesthesia during surgical procedures. Will be assigned based on the needs in the various areas related to respiratory therapy. Performs any other related duty as per the needs of the department.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Member of the New Brunswick Association of Respiratory Therapists (NBART);
• BLS (basic life support) certificate and maintenance of certification;
• Proven skills in developing a treatment and therapy plan in collaboration with the patient, their loved ones and the interdisciplinary team;
• Successful completion of COPD training based on set deadlines;
• Proven ability to organize and manage assigned workload;
• Proven ability to function in a changing work environment;
• Proven skills in communication and interpersonal relations with the care team;
• Working knowledge of computers;
• Strong interest in furthering own knowledge;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Physical ability to perform assigned work;
• Good work history (performance and attendance);
• Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network's management philosophy and organizational values;
• Adherence to Vitalité Health Network's confidentiality rules.
