What’s the role? (aka What you’ll do)

The Bell Cloud Practice is looking for a GCP Senior Cloud Architect with deep interest in driving customer value and operational efficiencies when migrating workloads supporting our customers’ cloud transformation journeys. Our Senior Cloud Architect is responsible for technical team leadership of integration/migration teams through large, complex infrastructure engagements in medium to large enterprise environments, supported by senior resources from the Cloud Project Management, Cloud Advisory, Cloud Integration/Migration and Cloud-Native teams as required. Drawing on both technical and business integration acumen, this is a customer solution lead role.

 In addition, this senior resource will have the opportunity to contribute to and continuously evolve multi-cloud and hybrid cloud adoption and optimization best practices and tools. 

 Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate and put forward the salient issues to all levels of management is important. We are seeking a team player with excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and highly developed problem solving abilities.

Job Duties/Accountabilities :

  • Working collaboratively with other cloud integrators and architects, build out and manage the Bell multi-cloud and hybrid cloud integration/migration best practices processes and tools
  • Interacting with senior Cloud Practice members and customers to build out the customer’s cloud adoption and optimization plan
  • Document problems and solutions that address technical issues
  • Technical mentoring and coaching to other technical team members
  • Integration/Migration lead for team of integration/migration specialists

Preferred Qualifications/Competencies :

  • Computer Science, Engineering or Math background preferred
  • Certified GCP Associate/Professional Cloud Architect
  • Experience facilitating discussions with senior leadership regarding technical/architectural trade-offs, best practices, and risk mitigation
  • Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
  • Experience in seamless hand-off of integration/migration projects to managed services

Critical Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Minimum certified intermediate/senior level GCP Cloud Architect with certified intermediate/senior level AWS and/or Azure solutions architect and/or additional specialty certifications ideally (Azure and AWS will be an asset)
  • College or University Diploma, related STEM background or related experience
  • 10+ years of IT Infrastructure experience including data center modernization, virtualization, VMware, Hyper-V, IaaS, PaaS and/or SaaS
  • 5+ years experience in a lead role in cloud integration/migration projects of >40 VMs, larger projects preferred
  • 5+ years hands-on experience leading the design, development and deployment of solutions containing: compute, storage, database, security and network for customers
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with configuration management using Chef, Puppet and/or Ansible
  • Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Cloud Resource Manager, ARM, and/or RAM
  • Experience with integration of cloud services with on premise technologies, hybrid cloud technologies
  • Experience with IT security compliance and risk management requirements
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery and High Availability solutions
  • Experience with design tools such as Visio
  • Knowledge of Databases solutions
  • Knowledge of Data Storage and Backup solutions
  • Knowledge of Application Architecture


Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
